The phone reads the APN configs off the SIM. For O2 it is something like "O2 IE Internet". Not sure what the equiv is for Vodafone but you can see the settings in the dongle app on your PC and just enter them on the phone manually. In any case, the SIM works perfectly including VOIP etc.</summary><content type="html">&lt;p&gt;I use my O2 mobile broadband SIM in my Vodafone N95-8GB regularly. I reflashed my E270 recently with the latest firmware. The problem is that its retail price makes no sense given how clunky it is compared to an iPhone (or the new Nokia touch-phone). 

I actually just bought an Eee PC Surf 4G on Expansys recently. They were selling them off for £100 since they are end-of-lifed. Whilst it is much bigger than an N810 and doesn't have a touch-screen, I'm much happier with it. I can plug USB devices in, use my O2 broadband dongle, access thousands of standard Debian apps and have an almost-full-sized-keyboard. Eee PC plus N95-8GB is a killer combination right now. 

Last week I hooked the Eee PC up to my office monitor, keyboard, mouse and network. I then worked the entire day on it. Apart from being a little slower than my usual machine, I was able to do a full day's work with no major drawbacks.</summary><content type="html">&lt;p&gt;I actually think we&amp;#8217;re in agreement Branitar. If I got one cheap, I&amp;#8217;d probably love it too.&lt;/p&gt;

As mentioned above by Craig, nearly all of your issues can be fixed by 3rd party apps. Ok, thats's not out-of-the-box and requires a little effort, but i set up my N810 and addded all applications I needed in less than 3 hours. I love the open platform (im a desktop linux user, too) so far im really having a lot of fun with it. So if this is right, fon is making a dollar for providing nothing, and we are giving a dollar less for proving our internet service. 
The accesspoint we had to purchase from fon to socially share our service and loose 50% of our revenue.

Man, this is good buisiness for fon, if it is as good for myself, I wonder. 
And if i want to get free access when traveling for 2 weeks a year I have to give my service for free, again, fon is giving nothing for free, its me. I payed for my router, i pay fullprice for my internet service.

Yeah, if they would pay 30% of my internet cost, than this could get interersting, but the way they work right now, they are just leeches sucking from my vains. Totally agree re Sports Tracker. It's an awesome piece of software. They are releasing a new app called NokiaVine (I think, the names keeps changing) which turns it into a full "life-streaming" application, adding location info automatically to everything you do.</summary><content type="html">&lt;p&gt;I got a few belt pouches free with various accessories on eBay but they all broke in a few days. Cant find a decent belt pouch anywhere that you dont have to take off and open up before you take a call. Also - no smiley faces for texting!
