		<description>I&#039;m not sure I&#039;d agree that Google don&#039;t get social networks - I think their plan involves combining their gmail userbase with their opensocial platform, it&#039;ll be interesting to see how that pans out.

I agree they have definitely missed out on microblogging boat (for now) though and they had such a good opportunity when they bought Jaiku.  Perhaps the decision to rewrite (post-acquisition) at the expense of keeping the current product offering alive was the dumb/badly timed one...</description>
