Techcrunch UK to become Techcrunch UK & Ireland

I know it’s a small thing but I’m really happy Sam is doing the rename. Did Fergus and Tom accost him at the launch party last week?

Let’s give him plenty of news from this side of the Irish sea!

Hopefully our new venture will have something he can write about in the coming months. I just need to change the branding on the new blog this week and I’ll start talking more about it.

On the contrary Conor – he spent the night avoiding me!

Looks like he has decided, in good British tradition, to simply annex Ireland!

He probably hotlinked to you and was afraid of what you’d do ;-)

I heard recently that they are taking Ireland out of the British Isles in kids geography books. I always thought that was a non-political thing but obviously not.

That is great news. As we approach launch ourselves i had been wondering which techcrunch to target :)

I had a go @ him before the party and asked him to ensure he didn’t do a typical British ‘fish ‘n chips’ thang. Sam has spent time in Ireland and does appreciate us wee folk – he is keen to cover Ireland…

I did have to get on to him for the using the Italan flag though :)

Hello

I do plan to cover Ireland to the best of my ability. I read as many Irish blogger as I can and Paul Walsh has agreed to help me when and where he can. I will also be holding a TechCrunch event in Ireland shortly called Ireland Startup!

P.S Have I upset you Tom, if I did not speak to you it was because there were over 200 people in the room.

That event sounds really interesting Sam, looking forward to it. Let me know if I can help in any way.

Sam,

if I was miffed it was because I flew to the event because in your invitation you said Michael Arrington was going to be there. A quick email to me could have saved me a flight and a day and half’s lost time.

I know there were over 200 people in the room. How many of them made the effort to fly to the event?
